Jenna Jameson Just Fired Back At Critics Who Say The Keto Diet Isn’t Sustainable

Jenna Jameson, who just hit the seven-month mark on the keto diet, says she’s “living [her] best life”—and wants to make sure all the keto haters out there know it.

In a recent Instagram post, Jenna shot back at keto critics who say the diet isn’t sustainable. “195 lbs vs. 120 lbs, I would just like to make a few statements,” she started. “When I was heavy, I was shamed by quite a few media organizations. Now that I’ve become well known for #keto…a lot of media has gone out of their way to hire ‘so called doctors’ to disprove the keto lifestyle and plant the seed that it isn’t sustainable.”

She emphasized that weight loss is different for everyone: “Here’s the moral of the story, DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. Don’t let others push their agendas on you. Trust your intuition and GO FOR IT! There is no time like the present to get healthy,” she wrote.

So is the keto diet sustainable or what?

Well, many registered dietitians say that, while keto can help with short-term weight loss, it may be tough to stick to for the long haul. (Mostly because the plan is so darn restrictive.)

But on the flip side, new research suggests that people on a low-carb diet (like keto) were better able to maintain weight loss compared to those on a high-carb or medium-carb plan, which seems like a serious win for keto lovers

Ultimately, the right diet for you depends on a few factors including how likely you are to stick with it and what’s healthiest for you and your body. So, if you’re all about meat, cheese, veggies, and healthy fats, the keto diet may be worth trying.
