Sarah Jessica Parker's Releasing Her Own Line of Wines

If you thought Sarah Jessica Parker was strictly a cosmopolitan devotee like her Sex and the City character, Carrie, you’d be sorely mistaken. Clearly, she’s a wine aficionado if this latest news is any indication: Parker has teamed up with New Zealand-based winery Invivo to launch her very own line of wines — and, yes, it includes a rosé.

Expected to launch this summer, Parker’s wine line, which also includes a New Zealand sauvignon blanc, is very much still in development, as the collection has yet to be named and Parker has yet to hop on a plane to New Zealand to get started.

According to Food & Wine, a representative said via email that the exact name won’t be announced until closer to the summer.

“I intend to be very hands-on throughout, as I am with all my endeavors, and could not be partnering with a better brand than Invivo,” says Parker in a statement. “I’m looking forward to traveling to New Zealand to see where the grapes grow and the wine is made.

With the help of Invivo founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron, Parker plans to get involved with the process from start to finish, including brainstorming the label design, winemaking and choosing the final blends.

“We want this wine range to be 100 percent Sarah Jessica Parker,” says Cameron. “So other than selecting the base wines for a Sauvignon Blanc and rosé, I’ll be taking a back seat and letting her create the blends.”

Cameron adds, “It comes down to SJP’s palate and preferences. We want to create wines that she loves and wants to drink and share with friends.”

This isn’t Parker’s first foray into launching her own product line. The seasoned actor also has her own shoe, clothing and accessory label called SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. That said, we’re confident she knows exactly what she’s doing.

Her Invivo partners are well aware of her business savvy and her successful shoe line too; they were careful to equip Parker with only the best footwear for the venture.

“The boys even brought me a pair of gumboots, which, they assure me, are the height of Kiwi vineyard fashion,” says Parker.

For Parker, she’s very much looking forward to working with Invivo.

“I’m a true wine lover and love including wine in family dinners and occasions with friends, so this is a very exciting and fun project for me. I’m looking forward to every stage of the creation
 process,” she says.

While we eagerly await the launch of Parker’s wine, Invivo invites everyone to visit the SJP x Invivo website to sign up for your chance to win one of five hand-signed, framed wine labels from Parker.
