New medicines keep the skin young and without wrinkles

Forever young skin thanks to the latest research?

Sagging skin and wrinkled faces could belong to in the near future of the past. Researchers have identified a key mechanism for the aging of the skin behavior. Two newly developed drugs could constitute an extremely effective Anti-Aging Intervention.

In a recent study of the Japanese Tokyo Medical and Dental School, it was found that a key protein link a new, effective treatment of age could lead to skin. The results of the study were published in the English journal “Nature”.

New medicines keep the skin young

In the study, two drugs were developed, which in the future may be a real fountain of youth for our skin. The drugs work by increasing a specific Protein (COL17A1), which is found in young skin cells in high amounts, but with age diminishes. If the mirrors fall off of this Protein, skin cells, old, misshapen, and less elastic. The cells seem to be also thin to be blotchy and sensitive, say the researchers.

How are the wrinkles on our skin?

As long as many cells are formed deep under the surface of the skin with high Protein, the skin continues to be youthful. By Survival of the Fittest this healthier skin cells against weaker skin cells, which in the further course of the die. In the course of time, however formed, is always less strong and healthy skin cells and weaker cells form the majority, with the result that the skin is becoming more wrinkled. In addition, certain factors such as Stress, contact with toxic materials, and damage caused by the sun can reduce radiation, the levels of Protein (COL17A1).

Can improve the drugs, the wound healing?

If people want a younger look, give the latest results now reason for hope. The research work is not only a younger appearance can be achieved, but the results also have the potential to support wound healing and even prevent skin cancer, claim researchers. Emi Nishimura of the Tokyo Medical and Dental School, and her colleagues made their discovery in mice and human skin tissue in the laboratory. The newly developed Compounds have yet to be tested on a living human. The two chemical Compounds strengthen COL17A1. The Compounds (Y27632 and Apocynin) also support that the wound healing significantly, by stimulating the production of skin cells with a high content of COL17A1, when applied to the skin. The results of the research point to ways to facilitate the skin regeneration and reduce skin aging.

Healthy cells can replace damaged cells

The maintenance of appropriate stem cells over the years, in which individual plants are likely to continue, it could prevent the tumor development because these healthy cells will compete with damaged stem cells and tumor-prone cells and eliminate them, explain the authors of the study. The research work also provides evidence that healthy cells can colonize in the mammalian adult tissue efficiently, by replacing inappropriate or damaged cells, add the researchers.

Further research is needed

Both Compounds improved the wound healing in tail skin of the mice and provide evidence for the therapeutic potential of this new drug class. The results also point the way to regenerate other organs except the skin. Future studies are needed to determine the mechanisms of cell competition in other tissues, and to identify Compounds that can reverse aging in other organs, explain the researchers. (as)
