Visceral fat is correlated with insulin resistance, which can make it hard to shift it. High blood sugar levels and insulin resistance is not only for type 2 diabetics to worry about. This occurrence can greatly impact visceral fat, making it more difficult to burn belly fat. What are four of the worst foods which are known to raise blood sugar levels in the body making visceral fat loss much more difficult?
Ice cream
Ice cream is notorious for being incredibly high in sugar.
This causes a spike in insulin and raises blood sugar levels in a person.
When insulin levels are extremely high it becomes difficult to burn belly fat.
Hamburgers
When carbohydrates and protein are combined, insulin levels are spiked causing high blood sugar levels.
Unlike complex carbohydrates, which makes good use of energy and blood sugar levels, simple carbohydrates cause sugar and insulin spikes.
Eating these foods regularly for long periods of time may lead to obesity, insulin resistance, inflammation and more.

Biscuits
Biscuits contain high amounts of sugar, refined flour, and added fats.
They can also be extremely high in calories which affects belly fat.
Biscuits interfere with the body’s ability to maintain proper energy and blood sugar levels and ultimately this can lead to more visceral fat.
Fruit juice
Although fruit juice provides some vitamins and minerals, the fructose it contains can drive insulin resistance and promote belly fat gain.
Drinking fresh fruit juice regularly can contribute to excess calorie consumption, which may cause you to gain weight.
The high amount of sugar found in many fruit juices will in turn affect a person’s blood sugar levels.
Dr Sheila Dugan, a physician and rehabilitation specialist said: “One good place to begin improving your food choices is to eliminate sugary drinks – and not just soda, but juices.
“Sugar increases belly fat and fibre reduces belly fat; thus, when you’re juicing fruits, you’re removing the fibre, leaving pure sugar.
“So, one quick fix, a very concrete fix, would be eliminating sugary drinks.
“Replacing sugary beverages with water will help dramatically cut down your sugar intake, and then once you’ve taken that step, you can figure out how to cut down on foods that are high in sugar.
“If you have a sweet tooth and need to put that final accent to your meal, eat an apple, melon or fresh berries. Just remember, fruit is not a substitute for vegetables.”
