This Photo Shows Exactly Why Clothes Sizing Is “Such Bullsh*t”

How many times have you gone to try on your regular size of clothing and struggled to get the dang thing over your ankles? Too many, we bet.

A woman in the US has summed up the frustrating situation in an image recently posted to her Instagram account, @wodthefork. And it’s quickly gone viral.

It shows Katy attempting to try on two pairs of jeans, and yes we say attempting because one of them won’t go over her thighs while the other sat loosely around her waist. It turns out they are they EXACT same size.

“LOL sizing is SUCH bullsh*t,” she captioned the snap, “These are both a size 10 short…”

“Literally the same store, cut, size, etc. The one was a hair too big and the other didn’t even go over my thighs.”

LOL sizing can be SUCH bullshit ?? these are both a size 10 short from express in their low rise leggings. Literally the same store, cut, size, etc. The one was a hair too big & the other didn't even go over my thighs ?? like WHAAAT?! My reason for sharing is…If you ever find yourself in a fitting room ready to bust into tears when something doesn't fit (we've all been there, myself included…millions of times…ask my mom) REMEMBER THIS PIC! There are times I'm a small, times I cant even muscle into a large, times a 10 falls off my hips & times, like this, it doesn't even get past my thighs. Sizing is silly…no one will know if you had to bump up or down because of the cut, style, or likely completely wrong sizing on the store's part. You mean so much more than fitting into the smallest size you can. Our value should never come from a number…on the scale or in our clothes. ?✌?

She goes on to remind women not to judge their worth by a number on their waistband.

It’s a message that has resonated with many women, with thousands liking and commenting on the snap in support.

“Oh my goodness,” one wrote. “Thank you so so much this was me literally in tears the other day and you just helped me. Much love!”

“I complain about this all the time,” said another. “Sometimes I’m a 4 and sometimes I’m a 12. How does that work? It’s ridiculous. My husband can just grab his size and be done. Not fair.”

Hear, hear.
