If you’re going to put your trust in anything in this world, let it be Dairy Queen’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard. Since 1991, the old faithful frozen treat has made its triumphant return to the DQ menu every fall. Like clockwork, come September, it rears its head, as if to say, you didn’t think I’d forgotten about you, did you?! And Blizzard lovers, for the 27th time in a row, here we go again.
Beginning September 3, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard will make its comeback as the September Blizzard of the Month. The base is a mix of DQ’s classic vanilla soft serve and pieces of real pumpkin pie. On top, there’s a dollop of whipped cream — because what’s pumpkin pie anything without it? — and a sprinkle of nutmeg. You can grab it in any of Dairy Queen’s four Blizzard sizes: mini, small, medium, or large.
Seeing as it’s already a DQ fan-favorite three decades in the making, the question is not, does it taste good?, but rather, will it be as good as you remember? Because in years past, “it was awesome.”
We tried the Pumpkin Blizzard yesterday and it was awesome. Who knew.
