Tired of boring chain restaurants that leave something to be desired? Too many non-chicken items on the menu? Ready to book your one-way ticket to Flavortown and never look back? Well, we’ve got great news for you — Guy Fieri is taking his chicken tender restaurant, Chicken Guy, nationwide.
The current location of Chicken Guy is in Orlando’s Disney Springs, but co-owner Robert Earl (the founder of Planet Hollywood) has announced that they’re opening a second location in Miami’s Aventura Mall, which will pave the way for further expansion.
What can diners at Chicken Guy expect? As one might guess, the menu is loaded with chicken — grilled and fried chicken tenders, to be exact. They can be paired with 22 different sauces and are then served up solo, in sandwiches, skewered or in bowls. You can also order them with a serving of the fledgling chain’s signature Chicken Guy’s Fries, which are doused in a sprinkle of Fieri’s signature spice blend.
This isn’t the first restaurant for Fieri or Earl. Earl is the owner of Earl of Sandwich, Buca di Beppo and Boston-area chain Bertucci’s (which has the best garlic knots of all time, FYI), while Fieri has restaurants in Baltimore, Atlantic City, Philadelphia and more. Fans of Fieri’s are a dedicated bunch — comedian and Nailed It! star Nicole Byer loves the guy so much that in 2018, she bought a refundable one-way airplane ticket just so she could grab a burger at his restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint at the Burbank Airport. If he can expect the same passion for Chicken Guy from his fans, it seems like this chain thing could end up being quite a successful endeavor.
For now, though, they’re taking it slow, with just one additional location. “With our second location, we are on our way to open Chicken Guy locations across the country,” Earl said in a statement. I guess this means that soon, we’ll all be residents of Flavortown.
