Jenna Jameson is basically the poster child for the keto diet (the woman has lost 80 pounds since going keto in April, btw). If you’ve been playing along at home, you probably know lots about her fave meals (arugula salad, steak, and Fresca), as well as her long-term plans for the diet (uh, forever).
One thing you don’t hear much about, though: Her gym sessions. That’s because, tbh, she kind of hates working out at the gym, according to her latest Instagram post.
“Exercise is starting to pay off,” Jenna wrote next to a before-and-after photo of herself. “Yes I’ve lost the weight I wanted, but I want to feel toned. At my age it isn’t easy. I’m almost 45. Honestly I despise the gym. I feel self conscious and anxious when I’m there.”

Exercise is starting to pay off. Yes I’ve lost the weight I wanted, but I want to feel toned. At my age it isn’t easy. I’m almost 45. Honestly I despise the gym. I feel self conscious and anxious when I’m there. So I told myself I would strengthen myself by hiking with Batel, walking as much as possible and run stairs. It’s working. This progression proves you don’t have to spend hours in a gym… get out, move your body and live life!!!! #keto #beforeandafter #beforeandafterweightloss #fitmom #ketodiet #ketotransformation #healthylifestyle #heal #fitnessmotivation

Jenna says she subscribes to less structured forms of exercise instead, including hiking with her daughter Batel, walking, and running the stairs when she can.
“It’s working,” she wrote. “This progression proves you don’t have to spend hours in a gym… get out, move your body and live life!!!!”
It’s not the first time Jenna has weighed in on her exercise approach while on the keto diet and working toward a healthier lifestyle. Earlier this month, Jenna took to Instagram to answer fans’ questions and she said about exercise: “I only began lifting weights and a bit of yoga this last month,” she said, when asked if exercise contributed at all to her weight loss.

Answers to my most asked questions. What hours do you intermittent fast? 6pm to 11am 5 days a week. Did you work out on top of keto to get your results? NO! I only began lifting weights and a bit of yoga this last month. Why are your tattoos switched in the pictures? One image is taken in the mirror. How tall are you? 5’7” Will you stay on keto forever? YES, it makes me feel strong and sharp. Why would I want to go back to feeling like a sloth? What do you put in your morning coffee? Sugar free coffee mate and stevia. Italian sweet cream coffee mate is my only vice. Did keto effect you milk supply? (I’m a nursing mom) no, but I recommend not doing keto until your baby is eating solids and breastfeeding. Just as a precaution. All mamas supplies and nursing journeys are different. What do you do if you hit a weight loss plateau? I cut dairy for a few days and it works like a charm! Love you guys, keto on! #ketodiet #intermittentfasting #beforeandafterweightloss #weightlossjourney #beforeandafter #ketomama #qanda #sahmlife

Still, that doesn’t mean Jenna has never stepped foot into a gym—back in August Jenna recalled a “catastrophic” first gym session where she injured her shoulder and was forced to be on the sidelines for two weeks. That’s when she picked up her yoga practice.
“I was always a nay-sayer when it came to yoga,” she wrote. “The quiet of it used to scare me. I now sneak onto my rooftop and enjoy morning yoga before anyone is awake.”

Since I had a catastrophic (I’m being dramatic) first gym session with an injured shoulder that put me out of commission for two weeks, I’ve decided to start yoga. I always was a nay sayer when it came to yoga ( I thought it was boring and annoying). Maybe because it forces you into your own head and feelings. The quiet of it used to scare me. I now sneak onto my rooftop and enjoy morning yoga before anyone is awake. If you would have told me 5 years ago this would be me, I would have facepalmed you 😅. This darling outfit is new to my Poshmark boutique, I hope you head over and check it out and add it to your collection! Part of the proceeds go to my local women’s shelter for abused women. Jenna also gave the gym another try a month later in September, when she posted a photo of herself doing barbell squats…but even then she didn’t seem to be in love with the idea.
“Starting the task of building back all the muscle I lost while pregnant and being sedentary,” she wrote. “I’m not sure why, but the gym has always intimidated me…But to be honest, I’ve got Bambi legs and they need a lot of work, so I shall push past my uncomfortability [sic].”

Starting the task of building back all the muscle I lost while pregnant and being sedentary. I’m not sure why, but the gym has always intimidated me. Overwhelmed. That’s a good word for how it makes me feel. But to be honest, I’ve got Bambi legs and they need a lot of work, so I shall push past my uncomfortability. My daughter and poshmark fill my time and fulfill me… but I know self care = mental health. I already feel better. Check back with me tomorrow , when I can’t walk and am set in cement. Side note, I listed some insane cute new jewelry and a few of my vintage Gucci pieces over on my Poshmark (link in bio) 💥 #squats #ketotransformation #buildingmuscle #weightlossjourney #weightloss #intermittentfasting #bodyafterbaby #fitmom

However Jenna’s toning up after her weight loss—it definitely seems to be working (look at that muscle definition). Get it, girl.
