It’s been one month since Claire, Jamie, Brianna and Roger graced our television screens. After a pretty rocky fourth season, the fifth season of Outlander came back stronger than ever and reminded us of why we fell in love with the show in the first place. It was full of romance, adventure, heartbreak and drama and of course, it left us with tons of questions about season six.
So besides rewatching all of our favorite episodes, what are we supposed to do to pass the time between now and the premiere of season six (or, ‘Droughtlander’, as my mom calls it)? Well, since cooking and baking has become everyone’s new favorite hobby, why not pretend you’re Claire Fraser herself living up on Fraser’s ridge and cook one of the traditional meals featured in the show and books?
True Outlander fans know several traditional Scottish dishes made their way into the books and even the TV series and although they may not be as exciting as some of those steamy scenes between Jamie and Claire, whipping up one of these dishes is a fun way to help fill the Murtagh-sized hole in your heart. Ahead, you’ll find several Outlander-inspired recipes to keep you occupied until the next season premieres.
