The Best-Tasting Canned Wines to Stock Up on This Summer

What would summer be without your favorite cocktail or two? Instead of the expected spirits of choice, because we all know that nothing about this Covid-19 summer is predictable, let’s step out of our comfort zone and try some canned wine. Whether going to a socially distanced picnic or barbeque, taking a hike, or chillaxing at the beach,  poolside or at home, canned wine is becoming a go-drink of choice but finding the best tasting canned wines can be tricky. People like that canned wine is durable, the packaging is usually slick, it’s a conversation starter, cost-effective (one can is sometimes equivalent to a ½ bottle of wine) and most of all, the quality is pretty darn good!

In fact, WICresearch, a research company that has been tracking the escalating rise of canned wine in the past few years, conducted its first canned wine vs. bottled wine blind-taste test and discovered that 48.5 percent preferred the wine they tasted from a bottle while 51.1 percent either preferred can or indicated they found no difference. They also discovered that canned wine isn’t going anywhere as the number of canned winemakers grew 180 percent (from 125-350) between June 2018 and June 2019. With stats like these, we really have nothing to lose.
