Visit the Ice Cream Shop Where Reese Witherspoon Pelted Meryl Streep In 'Big Little Lies'

A lot has happened this year (a. lot.) so we don’t blame you if you don’t remember everything that’s happened on social media since last summer, but let’s have a little refresher, shall we? Last August, more than a year after Season 1 of Big Little Lies aired, Reese Witherspoon finally threw us a Season 2 bone. She replied to a fan’s Tweet, a picture of Witherspoon holding a double-decker ice cream cone in her hand while standing ominously behind Meryl Streep (yes, this is how 90% of my fanfics start, but bear with me). The good people wanted to know: does Reese Witherspoon really hurl an ice cream cone at Streep in Season 2, as it looks like she’s gearing up to do?

The answer, blissfully, was yes. But we don’t have to wait until the start of season two to get another taste of the ice cream heard ’round the world because it turns out the ice cream came from a real store. While Witherspoon is waiting for season 2 to drop, she and her on-screen daughter have been able to spend time actually enjoying their cones, instead of winding up to chuck them at an Academy-Award-winner’s head.

It turns out these Insta-worthy ice cream cones are available at Mother Moo Creamery in Sierra Madre, California. It’s a relatively small town just northeast of Los Angeles, nestled at the foot of the San Bernardino mountains.

They make more than just ice cream — their Instagram is filled with drool-worthy images of pies, cookies, and other baked delights.

Big Little Lies finally returns on June 9, and when we’re not busy wondering what the heck is going to happen in the new season, we’re going to be dreaming of the now-iconic Mother Moo Creamery cones. Sounds like this might call for a trip to Sierra Madre!
