Suffering From Back Pain? Research Says This Exercise Will Help

A new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine reveals that by doing moderate exercise, like walking, you can reduce the risk of lower back pain by up to 14%.

Researchers at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health in Helsinki looked at data from 36 studies, covering 158,475 people. Their results also showed that being highly active reduces the risk of chronic lower back pain by up to 16%.

According to Dr. Joel Press, physiatrist-in-chief at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, its a natural association.

“We were meant to move. We were not meant to be stagnant in any way,” reports the Daily Mail.

Experts also advise that if youre suffering from back pain, you should start with low-impact exercise like swimming and walking and avoid high impact, twisting ones like tennis.
