In order to promote her newest album, Witness, pop star Katy Perry has been on a truly epic promotional tour, an extravaganza of press which included a four-day YouTube live stream of her life that allowed every interested observer to literally bear witness to her day-to-day, minute-to-minute existence. On its own, that is completely wild, but Perry decided to up the ante even further by adding celebrity guests into the mix.
Enter late night talk show James Corden, the affable Brit known for his chummy manner with all the stars who make their way onto his set. Even in Perry’s dojo, Corden was no less prepared for his one-on-one with fame, grilling the platinum-selling artist during a game called, “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.” The premise was simple enough: Answer an embarrassing question, or eat the strange, slightly scary dish on the plate in front of you. Corden took it as an opportunity to learn some juicy info about Perry’s personal life.
Included in the culinary array were pickled pig feet, bird saliva, a cow tongue, and a 1,000-year-old egg. Instead of saying who the most boring guest on his show has been, Corden gamely chowed down on the cow tongue as Perry looked on in horror. But when it was Perry’s turn to eat the egg, she instead chose to answer a revealing question about her love life.
“From best to worst in bed, rank John Mayer, Diplo, and Orlando Bloom,” asked Corden.

Perry played coy at first by deflecting the question and instead revealing that Josh Groban is her personal celebrity crush. Eventually, though, Corden got her to come back around to the query at hand by filling in the blanks for her.
“So, let’s go,” he said, asking her to place them in order, starting with the third-best. “Diplo?”
“Yes,” she replied.
“Mayer, then Bloom?” he said. Perry shook her head, so Corden amended his answer to Bloom in the runner-up position, and Mayer as the top dog.
No doubt, John Mayer is feeling good about himself for this minor victory, but, honestly, should anyone be surprised that he won out? The man is nothing if notoriously preening about his sex life; he’s even told Playboy in 2010 that it’s his dream to write pornography. In a way, it’s reassuring that he isn’t completely full of it. Kudos, John.
