From the glinting ballgowns and sleek tuxes to the impassioned speeches, the Academy Awards is one glamorous affair. And for those planning your own 2020 Oscars viewing party, the food and cocktail menu should be equally as over-the-top and decadent. Before you curate your culinary experience for your guests, let’s take a look at what Wolfgang Puck has planned this year, first.
For his 26th year, Puck returns to cater the post-Academy Awards event, the Governors Ball; but unlike past years, this year’s post-awards show menu will be comprised of “about 60 to 70 percent vegan dishes,” the chef told Us Weekly at the 92nd Oscars Governors Ball press preview at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. “Some of the vegan dishes we can modify from meat too, if someone wants it.” So, naturally, we’ve rounded up a mix of indulgent, rich dishes and healthier, plant-based options that’ll be equally as impressive and popular among your guests.
From grilled veggie pizzas and bacon-wrapped dates with goat cheese to cocktails, like the Ina Garten-approved Raspberry Royale, a champagne-based drink with a splash of raspberry liqueur, ahead are the best-of-the-best, Oscars-worthy cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts for your upcoming viewing party.
The 92nd Academy Awards airs Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.
