AMA calls for alleviating racial housing segregation

(HealthDay)—The American Medical Association (AMA) opposes policies that enable racial housing segregation, according to an article published in the association’s AMA Wire.

As part of its efforts, the AMA will not only oppose policies that enable racial housing segregation, but will advocate for continued federal funding of publicly accessible geospatial data on community racial and economic disparities, as well as disparities in access to affordable housing, employment, education, and health care. Specifically, the association calls for continued funding of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing tool.
